Strikingly Amusing, Yet Disturbing.

I can't remember where I got this strip from but somehow it made me laugh and squirm at the same time. Hahaha...ewwww! Can't get it off my head now.

An Evening at Shanmugas

Plain Naan with 3 different gravies
Tandoori chicken with sliced onions and lime
It was a perfect eveing at Shanmugas at Berkeley, Klang( that's Selangor, malaysia, for those of you outsiders). The food was even better. I'm not a big fan of North Indian food but this place is exceptional. Furthermore, these guys don't use baking powder in the Naan bread, yet it is soft in the inside and a little crispy on the outside. I wasn't too interested in the Dhal and fish gravy it came with but the mint and onion chutney (the sauce sits in between the fish gravy on the left and Dhal gravy on the right in the picture) is just exquisite! It has a perfect balance of mint and onion and one doesn't overpower the other.

And as for the Tandoori chicken, the meat was tender and not too dry, as some places would overcook the chicken until no moisture is left. What is unusual about the marinade here in this place is that they incorporate cinnamon powder and clove powder in to the mixture, so it makes it a little more aromatic anf flavourful than their counterparts. The portions are big too and it is best to have someone to share it with.

Finally, my verdict -
7/10 for the Naan bread
8/10 for the Mint and Onion chutney
7/10 for the Tandoori chicken

Father and son, my favourite pastime...

No, there's no graphic enhancement done on this picture. I just thought I'd put it on as I have to admit that it lookes cute. I'm a pro-smoker, but I have nothing against those who don't ( ironically it is always the non-smokers who despise smokers... we are far more docile!)

This is the new shit?!

So here it is... the new shit from KFC. Not too sure if it is available outside Malaysia, but if it isn't, then good riddance!
Apologies for not having a picture of the product itself ( it found its way to my tummy a little too soon, hence the picture of the box it came in).
Kentucky Fried Chicken should just get their R&D guys to find ways to bring the OR flavour back to us rather than venture into something that isn't their forte.
To start with, the Fish Sandwich is rather small than what they advertise on TV.
Next, the contents:
1. The bun happens to be the only thing good about the sandwich.
2. The crumbed fish fillet is nothing to shout about. it taste like any other frozen one you would find in the supermarket.
3. The cheese slice is hardly visible and it sticks like glue between the fish fillet and the bun.
4. The so-called tartar sauce is extremely sweet and it overwhelms the taste of the fish fillet.
my over-all verdict in the scale of 1 - 10, I would give it a 3 (i'm being very nice here, okay!)

What more can I say but...Filet-O-Fish rules the course, as usual...

Hello Rocker!

ROKR E1

It's time to say goodbye, my friend

Finally the time has come for me to let go of my J200i to usher in my new lover, ROKR E1.
I will cherish the last 6 months I spent with J200i to the point of no return. Sadly, life is about making new strides and breaking boundaries. But to choose Motorola over my beloved and faithful Sony Ericsson, well, I didn't think so. But now I do.
I sure do miss the good old days when mobile phones didn't exist. Life was a lot easier. But nowadays, the mobile phone is a status symbol.
How did I become so materialistic??!!

Just Arrived

Just arrived to see my baby. She isn't back. Where is she? I wish I could tell by the look of her room. Where did I see her last? How would I know? I'm glad though. Anticipation would have killed the cat a little more gently. Once in a while it's nice to drink milk from a saucer. Flying Saucers circle my baby. I will meet you there.

Romulus S.S.

This woman left her kids with her father and left with some guy she had barely known. She smoked like a chimney. She'd call sometimes to check on them. But they were ashamed to even talk to her.

Then Granpa took the kids and moved away to Romulus. She went there to spend a day with her kids. Her Chevrolet broke down on the way. When she called to tell them about it, the kids prayed that the car would never be fixed.

Grandpa was the nicest man alive. He did as much as he possibly could although he didn't have much money. He bought them a VCR to keep them occupied as the woman wasn't around. They watched it every night.

The woman came to see them one fall. Grandpa passed away in the hospital. She didn't even seem to be bothered by it. She stayed in her room smoking all day. She even colored her hair before she left. They were ashamed of her.

Year of the Happy New

Happy New Year to all the people out there who may or may not be reading my blog!

I'm not going to be saying much and no resolutions that I would make would change what fate has in store for me this year....karma...

I haven't got much time so I will keep this one short and sweet. As for tomorrow, I will be extracting all if not one of the essence of Sufjan Stevens' work and recreate what I decipher listening to Romulus. Hope you can relate to it. If you do have your own idea of Romulus, please feel free to share it with me. Adios!
